Then you remember where you live and the summer season is no guarantee of good weather. But before you decide to fly off to a sunnier location just wait. Plan and rain on your wedding won’t spoil your day.

We never know what the weather is going to do as a Northern Ireland wedding photographer, so it’s worth having an indoor backup plan. Ask your venue what space they have available for group shots on a wet day. Ideally, it should have good window light and not much in the line of clutter. Your photographer will look for a few quiet spots with good light for some portraits. Having a backup plan means that it’s less stressful on the day if the weather doesn’t work out.

It makes sense to have some umbrellas in the car. As long as it’s not too wet or bucketing down out of the heavens I’m more happy to head outside with you but keep in mind if it’s too wet the dress might be a bit worse for wear afterwards. We can look for sheltered spots under trees and doorways.

Keep an eye on the weather forecast as there might be a break in the rain. So there is a chance of getting your couple shots later in the day or even making our way outside before the first dance.
