Brownlow House Wedding Photography in Lurgan
Brownlow House Wedding Photos with Gemma and Scott in Lurgan, as we headed there for the bride and groom portraits at the castle.
The bride, groom, and I, as the wedding photographer, headed to Brownlow House (sometimes called Brownlow Castle) for bridal photos before driving to Belmont House for the reception. Brownlow House is located in County Armagh, making it quite handy, with a drive of about 5 to 10 minutes from the town centre. It was October, so it was a little cold. We took some time outside to take in the beautiful surroundings of the exterior stone facade of the venue, at the front of the car and around the side, overlooking the building, before making our way around the building.
Wedding Portraits in Lurgan
Keeping in mind our time here was just for wedding portraits between the bride and groom, I thought a change of scenario would be needed, so we walked around to the side of Brownlow Castle, where the large stone steps led up to the castle. We mixed things up, photographing wider images of the bride and groom with the castle in the background, medium and close-ups, which is always essential.
Our last stop at the castle was a few portraits inside. We didn’t have a lot of time here, so we had to move things on a bit. There are very high ceilings in the Octagon Room, which is the foyer room. Not allowing me to bounce my flashlight off the ceiling as it was just too high for this, not great for a photographer like myself, but anyway. On the plus side, there were very large windows letting in plenty of sunlight. Inside the staircase is great for a couple of photos, as it has a real vintage atmosphere.
There’s a nice staircase with a red carpet up to a small room and then into the hallway, which has large windows. We took some portraits of the couple sitting down before a few more pictures at the grand staircase, as well as in the main foyer with the majestic, large windows at the back letting in plenty of light. We didn’t go into the Grand Ballroom due to time resraints but maybe next time.
