Summer Wedding Photography in Beechlawn Hotel

Beechlawn Hotel Wedding Photography with Janice and Dean as they got married in St Columba's Church with portraits in Lisburn Castle Gardens.

There were no bridal preparations, so straight to the ceremony at St Columba's Church in Lisburn. I arrived a bit early, but better early than late! I took photos of the Presbyterian Church in Old Warren with some wedding decor before the guests arrived. The Church had ample car park space beside it. Dean, the groom, arrived with a few more shortly afterwards. I photographed the groom with a few of the guests outside the Church before they were called in. Janice, the bride, arrived in the limo. The music started, the bride walked down the aisle, and the proceedings commenced. Everything went smoothly.

Lisburn Castle Gardens Wedding Portraits

I’d never heard of Lisburn Castle Gardens, but Janice and Dean wanted to stop here on the road to Beechlawn for some bride and groom portraits, as it was very handy in Lisburn. My sat nav took me to Wallace Park by mistake, but thankfully, it was only about a 5-minute drive away. We started with active type walking, holding hands, and photos before breaking things up a bit. I tried to incorporate the locations as much as possible, as it was quite a beautiful garden. It has a fountain and plenty of paths and was once the site of Lisburn Castle.

All the guests were in the spacious lounge chatting with each other while Acoustic Melodies played music in the background, so we asked the immediate family and bridal party to move to the garden for photos. The outside garden part was quite small but had a grey hut with some wooden chairs around it. I tried to tidy up a bit as it was a bit of a mess. We organised the photos with the immediate family first, then the groom with groomsmen, and then the bride with bridesmaids. I tried to take these photos fairly quickly as we didn’t have much time, but I also tried to make it fun too.

Wedding Reception Pictures at Beechlawn Hotel

After the photos in the garden, we were called in for speeches and dinner.  Everyone was buzzing as you’d expect, and the bride and groom made their grand entrance with all the guests up and clapping. Speches commenced with some great speeches from the groom, bride and relatives, then we broke for dinner.

After dinner, we grabbed a very quick photo of the bride and groom at each table as the music played.  Quite difficult to squeeze everyone in, but thankfully, I had a wide-angle lens on the camera, and I’m sure I missed a couple. Later on, there was a singing waiter from Singers Secreto who got the guests up dancing, singing and waving their white hankies. All great fun.

The lights dimmed for the evening reception, but thankfully, I had a flash to capture these images. I love these photos as it’s quite dark, so you're getting the nice coloured lighting in the background, and sometimes captured on people too. The DJ commenced his playlist, and the first dance started shortly afterwards, with the bridal party and guests getting up shortly afterwards.  All in all, a great evening was had by all, and I’m glad you booked me as a wedding photographer in Lisburn.  All the best with your future, Janice and Dean.
