Wedding Photographer Belfast, Northern Ireland
Telling the Story of your Wedding Day with Authentic, Fun Candid Photos in NI and ROI
Philip Topping is a professional Wedding Photographer in Northern Ireland, just outside Belfast, capturing your story with friendly modern vibes and amazing photos. I like to capture natural, relaxed moments and care about giving you great memories and wedding photos to remind you of one of the best days of both your lives as everyone comes together. Established in the wedding industry in 2015, I only take on a limited number of weddings each year, so check with me ASAP if I’m available. I am taking bookings for 2025 to 2027.
I offer a wedding photography Belfast service, covering the entire Northern Ireland area with a blend of natural, candid photos and gently posed editorial shots. If you want ideas and inspiration for traditional wedding photography, please look through some of my past wedding photos, including Bangor Castle, Belfast City Hall, Brownlow Castle and Seagoe Hotel. Traditional real weddings are much more natural and candid than staged and posed.
Wedding Photographer Northern Ireland
I don’t just photograph your wedding day I tell a story through photos and images throughout the day. This could be emotions, tears of joy and laughter of family and friends. Capturing these precious moments is essential to storytelling. You can check out a full gallery by viewing the blogs. I do this with my cameras, so I am not always organising photos, sometimes, it’s good to stay in the background and photograph moments like this. These are the things you miss on the wedding day, and you will love these in years to come. A professional wedding photographer like myself will pick these up and embrace them. Read more FAQs. Also, for pre-weddings, you can check my website for ideas, inspiration, and previous images. Have a look at my wedding photography YouTube channel.
Wedding Photographer Portadown and County Armagh
I’m a Northern Ireland wedding photographer based in Portadown, my home town - some great locations and venues to photograph your wedding in within County Armagh, including Lurgan. I have lived in Portadown my whole life and love it here. The town has a lot to offer couples for their ceremony and reception. You might be a couple asking yourself where to take Portadown wedding photography. Well, I have photographed in the town for quite a while at this stage, so I’d say I’m the best wedding photographer in Portadown. There are some fantastic venues, including Gracehall and Brownlow House and some great locations, including Tannaghmore Gardens and Lurgan Park, making for great wedding photos.
Philip Topping works as a professional photographer for weddings across Northern Ireland and ROI. I’ve shot in most counties, photographing at larger venues, including Loughshore Hotel, to smaller, more intimate venues like Malone House. I also photograph in the South of Ireland (ROI), which is just over the border from Northern Ireland, including the Four Seasons Hotel and Sligo. Thank you for considering me.

DETAILS, LAUGHTER, FRIENDS and FAMILY CAPTURED in NORTHERN IRELAND
I’D LOVE TO BE A PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY.
Creative Wedding Photographer
I am one of the best creative wedding photographers in Northern Ireland. Time permitting, as the day is quite busy with lots of things going on and some pretty tight timeframes. As well as the formal-type photos, I can also get some creative wedding pictures with certain angles and poses throughout the day. When the formals are shot, it’s time to get creative! I can incorporate some blurred distortion elements like a prism, or even some leaves may do the trick. I can experiment with poses in the bridal party photos, and I plan to incorporate more creative images and photos. I like adding some creativity to photos, even though it doesn’t always work out.
What makes Philip Topping the best?
I've photographed wedding pictures in lots of locations and venues in Northern Ireland
I'm great at organising and photographing groups of people from small to large
I'm confident and experienced
Heck, I’ll run with it and say I'm the best, as I do such an amazing job!
Why NOT to choose Philip Topping
You’re happy with sub-standard wedding pictures that look like they were photographed by a five-year-old, a wannabe photographer or Uncle Bob
You couldn't give a hoot about your wedding photos
You have zero budget
You have the budget but don’t want to pay
Not all photos should be posed and formal, as you may also want documentary-style wedding photographs, which are more informal in style. This is more fly-on-the-wall wedding photos of the bride and groom mingling with guests in contrast to setting up formal photos.
Top Wedding Photographers
A couple, as you’d expect, is never the same, and I believe your wedding photographs should reflect that, so I take an approach to find out what’s important to you. When I arrive on your day, I know what you want and how to capture it, and you can sit back with me by your side. It should be all about telling your story. Wedding photography has several names, including wedding photojournalism, documenting weddings, and reportage. I don’t believe there are any differences between the three names apart from what bridal magazines see as the way to describe storytelling.
I love storytelling. There are many styles, including artistic, fine art, vintage, modern, contemporary and candid. If you like what I do and would like me to work on your wedding photography, get in touch for a chat.
Candid Wedding Photographer
A candid wedding photographer in Northern Ireland can capture more unposed and natural photos on your big day, and this type of style of wedding photography takes out the stress of your day, which I’m all for. Instead of setting up poses and the like, I focus more on unscripted emotions. They can be more relaxed, but you’ll still get the usual group and bridal photos and all the rest, too.
Alternative Wedding Photographer
As an alternative wedding photographer, I would be aiming for something a bit different and quirky, hence the word alternative. Your wedding day is going to be one of the greatest days of both your lives. You’ll never forget how you felt walking up the aisle, and you’ll remember the tears and laughter throughout the day. What about something different, like wedding portraits on the beach or elopement photography with just a small number of guests along the cliffs? The alternative can also mean shooting as a quirky, which is something a bit different and unconventional, bride and grooms after something a bit different, which I look forward to shooting!
Same-Sex Wedding Photographer
I’m a same-sex and LGBTQ wedding photographer, so if you are a couple looking for wedding photos, get in touch. I support marriage equality, and everyone has the right to love and be loved. It doesn’t matter if you are gay or lesbian. Feel free to browse through the website first, though. I would be more than happy to photograph anywhere in the province. It doesn’t matter if you are gay or lesbian, love is love, after all. I am comfortable shooting in front of small or larger crowds; it doesn’t matter to me how many are there. If you are interested in booking me as your gay wedding photographer, please get in touch with more information.
Any questions I’m here to help, contact Philip Topping for any enquiries, thank you.
Wedding Photo Shoot Service Areas
I photograph all over Northern Ireland, and it does not matter about travel as there are no travel expenses, so if you are as far up north as Carrickfergus or in Omagh, I’d love to hear from you. I photograph weddings in Lisburn, Ballymena and Newry. I can’t list every town in NI and ROI I work in, but just send me an enquiry.
Wedding Photographer Belfast
I’m a wedding photographer in Belfast City, and if you are interested, check out my availability. Take a look through my marriage and wedding photography on this page, and looking forward to hearing from you. There are lots of locations in and outside of the city for wedding photography, photographers in Belfast know these things as you also have Dundonald, Stormont, Botanic Gardens and Holywood. Check through the photos, and if you have any enquiries, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Left things late, looking for a last-minute or had a cancellation? Contact me as I could help. Depending on your date and location, I might be able to assist you with last-minute photos. This is for anywhere in NI and ROI along the border counties only. Ideally, wedding pictures should be booked 1-2 years in advance, but contact me with more details ASAP.
I’m also a wedding photographer in Armagh, which is about a 25-minute drive away from Portadown, so not too far away. The same information can be applied to Armagh from above, so I don’t want to go through it again. The city has a few smaller places and a city hotel, and just beside the hotel is Palace Demesne Public Park within walking distance.
Wedding Photographer Derry
As well as Belfast, I photograph weddings in plenty of towns and cities throughout the province, including Derry/Londonderry.
