Learn a bit more about Philip
I’m a hard-working person (well, I like to think so anyway) who is passionate about photography and videography. Hopefully, at this stage, you’ve browsed through my website and come here to learn a bit more about me. If you think you’d like to hire me, please contact me. I work all over Northern Ireland and Ireland and have shot large groups to smaller, more intimate gatherings. Visit my YouTube channel.
In about 2015, I took up photography as digital photography improved quite a bit and progressed from point-and-shoot cameras to SLRs as opposed to film photography, which I wasn’t interested in. I had done that in my Southern Regional College (then called Upper Bann Institute of College of Further Education and Higher Education Lurgan Campus) days in the 1990s.
Pets
I have two dogs, Penny and Molly both below in the snow. Penny was got from a dog shelter and Molly was a stray running the streets.
Beer and Whiskey
I enjoy the odd beer, ale, cocktail, whiskey and cola.
Photography Equipment
I keep wedding photography equipment to a minimum and use minimalist gear for my business, making it much easier to move and travel. Anything that isn't used is sold after 3 to 6 months, as I do like to keep it for a bit as I may change my mind, haha! But to be upfront there needs to be certain equipment needed for wedding photography.
Wedding Photography Equipment List
My wedding photography equipment list is below, and hopefully, you can find something useful here especially if you are a Nikon shooter.
Nikon Z6 x2
Nikkor Z 50mm f/1.8 S
Nikkor Z 35mm f/1.8 S
Nikkor Z 85mm f/1.8 S
Yongnuo flashes
iMac (silicon)
Adobe Software
Now, I’m not saying this is the best gear for a wedding photographer but it ticks all my boxes bar a couple that I can live without. My Wedding Photography Equipment list is always expanding and growing, as you’d expect, so there needs to be some testing of new gear and equipment, which is why I have my YouTube channel.
