Wedding Preparations Photography Belfast
The Ceremony was held at the very spacious St Donard’s Church of Ireland, but my first stop was Kyle’s parents’ in Belfast for a few groom preparation photos. The lads were very easygoing, relaxed and good craic. Then I headed off to Val and Kyle’s, not too far away, where she was getting her make-up done. Their two kids were there, too. At about this point, it started raining, a drizzle that wasn’t too bad, but obviously not ideal for photos.
Wedding Ceremony Photography in St Donard’s Church of Ireland
We made our way to St Donard’s Church of Ireland for the ceremony in Belfast, really just a stone’s throw away from the couple’s house and the church is located at Bloomfield Road. I photographed plenty of variations while the ceremony was happening, and the minister was very nice and let me work away, moving about quietly. I made sure I was in the right position for that all-important first kiss. We also took some photos at the signing, and the couple asked the families to come up too. We couldn’t get too many pictures outside after the ceremony due to the rain, as most people headed off to the hotel; there was no hanging about for these folks!
Wedding Portraits at Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park
We headed off to Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park, which was located on the other side of the city, just between Belfast and Lisburn, so it took a while to drive there, for a couple of portraits with the bride and groom in an area of the park with lots of trees sheltering us from the heavy rain. Sir Thomas was a great choice, as there are plenty of shelters and some stone steps that give the wedding photos more character. You also had a choice of the Botanic Gardens, which you can also check out. Tricky to get there at this time of the day as the traffic was quite bad.
