Belfast City Hall Wedding

I parked further out from Botanic Gardens where we had our engagement and the couples were getting married in Belfast City Hall I walked in with my camera gear which was no easy walk. Belfast City Council marriage photos are great for all communities in the city as the city hall embraces all walks of life, both sides of the community and anyone who isn't related to any specific side or possibly from outside of the country.

When I arrived I shot some of the grooms with the best man before the wedding ceremony started. It was quite a small wedding with five in attendance in the Belfast City Hall wedding room. The bride arrived for the ceremony in her wedding dress and I must say was amazing looking. When the Belfast City Council wedding was finished we shot a few more within the city hall itself which has some great architecture. We weren’t there that long but it was a great wedding in Belfast City Hall and thanks for booking me for your wedding photos in Belfast City.

Weddings Belfast City Hall

Weddings in Belfast City Hall are always a joy to shoot as you're getting the superb architecture inside the city hall at your wedding ceremony. You can’t have your wedding reception here obviously but there are lots within walking distance in the centre of the city and beyond. After their short city hall wedding in Belfast, the couple wanted a few portrait photos close to the city centre so we then headed off to Botanic Gardens for couple portraits stopping off at The Merchant Hotel too for a super quick photo session.

We stopped off at Belfast Cathedral Quarter for a couple of wedding photos but nice was short so needed to be super quick. As both places were in the centre of the city we had to be fairly quick.

Our last stop was a few photos at Botanic Gardens in Belfast for wedding portraits of the fab couple parking the limo in front of the Palm House in Botanic.

The wedding in Belfast City Hall venue was as you’d expect from the council one of the best in the city as your right slam bang in the centre of the city with plenty, and I mean plenty, of local spots, actually within walking distance there there are lots of hotels, restaurants and locations close by that can be hired for your reception, all within walking distance of the city hall.

How to book your Belfast City Hall Wedding

You can book a wedding in City Hall by contacting the council’s registrar on the phone number 028 9027 0455. The costs to marry in the city hall vary throughout the week from £180 for weekdays which is the cheapest to £306 for Saturdays to the more expensive £360 for bank holidays.

Once you have secured your date and booked the registrar you will need to give notice to marry which needs to be given at least 28 days before the ceremony and up to one year before your date. You can give notice by booking an appointment online and posting your original completed marriage notice forms along with relevant documents to Registrations, Belfast City Hall, Belfast BT1 5GS.

Before you get married in Belfast you and your partner will have to complete a marriage notice form and produce documents. You and your partner will need to provide full birth certificates, passports/national identity cards and if you’ve been married before proof that you are legally free to re-marry.
