Riverdale Barn Wedding: Venue in Aghagallon

In the morning I made my way to Helen’s parent’s spacious house in Lisburn for some bridal prep. Scott didn’t want any groom prep shots so spent a bit longer at Helen’s house. Her sister was there along with her brother, and her dad joined later. As well as bridal prep we shot some out the back too. The make-up artist Emma King MakeUp Artist and hair stylist Gemma Managh - Session Styling were there working away. When the girls were closer to the ceremony we photographed some of Alison Slaney's Bridal Design and ASOS dresses which were very classy.

The car arrived for the bride-to-be and we all made our way to their Lambeg Parish Church which was about 15-20 minutes away. The ceremony commenced and everything went smoothly with some of Helen’s family playing music which was a great touch if I do say so myself. After the signings, we shot some of the family with the minister asking if any guests wanted to take some themselves.
Riverdale Barn Wedding
I’d never heard of Riverdale Barn but it turned out a superb spot in the countryside. The day was a bright sunny day which isn’t the best, I prefer the sun hiding behind a cloud or two, but anyway, the car and van were there for a bit longer so the drivers let us take a couple of shots at the entrance.
I thought it would be nice to get a quick group shot of all the guests in attendance at the front entrance of the Riverdale Barn wedding venue, which took a bit of time to organise (as there are always a couple of latecomers). Later on, a guest told me they were hiding behind the guests lol ;)
We picked a spot beside the lounge area overlooking the water for family shots before the speeches started. There was some SS Graphix signage showing table plans. At this point, the sun was quite strong as the clouds broke. We then took a quick walk around to the back of the venue for bride and groom portraits too before making our way back. The speeches went well with speeches by Helen’s dad, then Scott’s dad, the best man and finally Scott himself.
Riverdale Barn Wedding Portraits
We photographed some Riverdale wedding portraits around the back showing off some of the lad’s McCall’s suits. I've been trying out shooting some nighttime portraits using off-camera flash (OCF for short) with recent wedding shoots, so we tried a few shots at the back of the barn around the water. These took a bit of work figuring out the lighting but worked out quite well with the background of their Riverdale Barn Aghalee wedding venue with lights on.
Riverdale Barn Wedding Packages
Riverdale Barn is one of the best venues and is located close to the M2 motorway which is accessible from either end of the country. There are lots of other wedding venues too. The wedding album means you can show your older relatives your wedding photos as they might not have access to the internet.

Wedding in the Riverdale Barn
After a couple of photos of the couple beside the fab Kosalisa cake, I shot some casual shots of the guests who were next at their tables in the barn before DJ Music Matters played their first dance, parents and some family members also joined in for the dancing. The county has a ton of wedding venues but Riverdale should be on the list as one of the best. A very enjoyable day had by all from start to finish, all the best with your future together Helen and Scott, thanks for booking me.

Riverdale Barn Wedding Venue
The Arches room is smaller in Riverdale Barn wedding venue and is unique as it was once a drying shed for the mill so the architecture is quite interesting. The Arches can open their doors onto the pond, which could be ideal for photos as I took some photos at this barn area at Scott and Helen’s wedding (see above).
The Main Barn
The Main Barn is where you have your ceremony and reception and can seat up to 140 guests. The stone wall outside the main barn can display your designs and decor on your wedding day. When you are finished with the ceremony the main barn room can be tuned over (as in changed) to accommodate your party for your first dance and social gatherings throughout the evening.
Venue facts
This is not a hotel so the Barn does not do accommodation, nevertheless, it is a great spot for your wedding with a few areas ideal for photos of the bridal party, family and guests. The barn is beside Lisburn and close to the motorway.

The venue does not have any bedrooms for rent but there are plenty of hotels and B&B close
