Antrim Castle Gardens Engagement Photography
Sarah’s sister booked me for engagement photos in Antrim Castle Gardens in January, so quite cold. I met the couple at the entrance. As usual, I ask what type of photos they want, as it’s always better to ask first what type of engagement images they want.
The gardens is a historic park in Antrim which features old gardens, water features and the ruins of a castle. A great garden to bring the family to for exploring and as you’d expect, popular for dog walkers, walkers, walking trails, cyclists and more. There are numerous areas to explore, such as the Victorian Pleasure Garden. Clotworthy House is located in the heart of the gardens and features a cafe and art gallery. You can explore what remains of the Italianate tower and gatehouse.
Parkland Engagement Photos
We took a walk around some parts of the gardens, but it was so big we couldn’t cover it all in the short time I was booked for. We took photos if we saw something interesting, which was no problem at all, as there were plenty of interesting areas and parkland. For engagement photography, there was no shortage of locations and areas within walking distance in the parkland. I tried to think of variations in walking, standing, posing and sitting down to break the engagement session up a bit. There was some fantastic old medieval-type stone work here.
