Castle Leslie Wedding Videographer in a Breath-Taking Estate

Castle Leslie Wedding Videography with Celia and Charles in the Glaslough Estate, as the couple booked for a full-day video package in Monaghan.

Castle Leslie Wedding Video

This includes a highlight video, which is meant to be a short creative highlight of the couple’s day using video and audio as it is simply not possible to squeeze about three hours’ worth of footage into ten minutes so rather pointless trying to. This is why the sequence is out of order and a little more creative.

Originally, the plan was to have the ceremony outside, but the weather was just a bit hit-and-miss on their day, so it was decided, rightly so, that inside would be best. When I arrived at their stunningly beautiful secluded estate in the morning, I first assumed the bridal party was staying in the castle itself, but the receptionist pointed us to The Old Stable Mews, where everyone was staying. The Mews is about a 5-minute drive and a 15-minute walk from the castle, with ancient woodlands in the middle. The Old Stable Mews is private accommodation and has 2 bedrooms in each house set within a courtyard. It’s more modern than the castle itself.

When I arrived, I filmed some video footage of the MUA and hair stylist, then some detail-type clips. I grab some audio of bridal prep in case I want to overlay some audio later when editing highlights of the day. Also, do not forget the wedding dress hanging up, which I filmed in a couple of different places. I tend not to get too many of these types of clips, just a little bit of footage. Later on, we headed to Charles’s house, which was just luckily enough beside Celias's, so not too far to walk. We were here just a bit as I only really needed a couple of detail clips and some footage of Charles getting ready. Groom prep doesn’t take that long.

First Look

After everyone was ready, the couple planned a first look up at the castle just before the ceremony. This was my first time filming a first look, and I must say it went well. While they were together, there was also some footage filmed at the pier and along the water at the boathouse. If there is a chance of any audio that needs to be recorded, I use a small thin audio recorder on the mics for recording speakers and readings. Also attached to anyone like the groom, as he would be very close to the bride, so should pick up both.

The wedding ceremony was commenced by Niamh Davis celebrant humanist, and went quite quickly. Music was by the Ionian String Quartet in the ceremony, afterwards in the reception area, and then outside. It was fairly light-hearted and some of it was by Charles’s friend, who was also the master of ceremonies, so he would be helping organise things throughout the day, like making a few fun speeches.

This was different as Celia is Chinese and Charles is Irish, so the ceremony reflected this. Unfortunately, the room was quite dark with not too many lights on, which created a couple of problems for filming, but hopefully, I did the best I could. This created nice ambient lighting but was a tad difficult to film, though. Their love for coffee was part of the ceremony.

After the ceremony, there were some photos which I filmed behind the scenes of outside with the family and bridal party before everyone made their way in. Again, this is a bit different as the speeches were afterwards as opposed to before.

The estate has some great architecture, including pavilions and, of course, the marquee. Charles’s friend was trying to get guests to learn some Chinese, and there was a bit of fun too. The speeches commenced with the groom’s dad, the best man, the groom, the bride and her sister. There was more light banter after the speeches. Afterwards, there was a quick tossing of the bouquet, which I got the beginning and tail end of as there were just too many guests outside, making it quite difficult to move. The guests could stroll around the estate, explore the castle a little bit, as there were a few lounge areas or make their way back into the marquee. Whatever the guests did, Castle Leslie certainly was high-end and very much grandeur.

The Bratz Band was the wedding band and they had both a female and male singer and consisted of several musicians, about 5-6 in fact, which included a DJ for later on in the evening too. The Bratz Band called in Celia and Charles for the couple’s first dance, which was surprisingly well rehearsed. Most of the first dances I’ve filmed are moving back and forth, but you can tell the couple put a lot of effort into theirs, as it was very well danced. Afterwards, the band called everyone onto the dance floor, so plenty of guests were on the dance floor.

You can capture some beautiful wedding videos here. All the best with your future together, Celia and Charles. Have a look at some screenshots from the video for the couple. There are just so many to choose from, ranging from bridal portraits to the reception.

Wedding Videographer

As a Castle Leslie Wedding Videographer, if you like my wedding videos, please get in touch, as I love filming here. I only take on several weddings each year and work throughout the ROI.

I filmed here the whole day, including the ceremony with two cameras and the reception also with two cameras filming from two different angles, which I think is essential, as when I’m editing your wedding video, as a cinematographer, I have multiple angles to choose from. This is essential as you can move around. Multiple audio recorders were used throughout the day, which is also essential for superior sound quality and again, while editing your wedding video, I have a few options to pick the best audio from. As you can see, I’m the best at what I do, and that’s producing the best wedding videos. Contact Philip as your filmmaker for more info. Thank you.

Wedding Video Cost

Have a look at my wedding video cost for your film at the estate and further afield too. My wedding prices are for full day coverage, which is the best value for money. All prices come with a wooden USB and a small box. My wedding cost is €1700, it is much better to book me for a full day. For more up-to-date prices, check out my pricing page.

I’ll be there from bridal preparations up to your first and second dances, and also cover your ceremony. This could be off or on the estate in one of the small rooms or on the marquee for bigger weddings. It’s completely up to you how long I stay. My main wedding package is

  • Full day from bridal preparations up to the second dance

Less than my minimum wedding package is not worth it, as you are missing out on so much at the beginning or the end of the wedding day.

Castle Leslie is a large estate in Glaslough, County Monaghan, just beside the border, so it is very handy to travel from both sides of the border. Ideal if you're looking for a private rural escape, as it is only an 80-minute drive from Dublin and 60 minutes from Belfast.  It is 1000 acres of countryside, so if you are a bride and groom who like the undulating Irish countryside, this might be the perfect spot for your wedding celebration.  It’s a bonus if you like the castle, too!  The estate also has glittering lakes, which your guests would like to walk along. The place has two unique locations on the grounds, which are in the Castle itself, and can accommodate wedding parties with up to 70 guests. (Note: Available midweek dates only) And for much larger wedding parties, The Pavilion (which is the marquee) can accommodate a much larger 260 guests and overlooks Glaslough Lake. The castle pavilion can also be split, and a curtain put up while the band is set up, so your guests don’t have to move away from their tables too early, and they don’t have to watch the band set up. They offer discreet personal attention on your wedding day, and it is quite a magical setting.

Max capacity: In the Castle, up to 70 guests, and in The Pavilion, up to 260 guests

Address: Castle Leslie Estate, Glaslough, County Monaghan H18 FY04
