A short list of the best wedding venues in County Armagh in 2024 to check out, you don’t have to live within the county to book these venues. If you are in or close to the town these could be ideal!
Wedding Venues Craigavon
Craigavon itself doesn’t have any wedding venues but as Craigavon encompasses Portadown, Lurgan and of course Craigavon itself there are a couple of venues you can check out.
Riverdale Barn
One of the best wedding venues in Craigavon is Riverdale Barn in Aghagallon and is very impressive indeed and a great wedding venue in Craigavon. This isn't a hotel so you will need to seek accommodation somewhere in Craigavon, Lurgan or Lisburn. The main barn is for gathering all your guests for your wedding and can seat up to 140 guests. Following your wedding meal the barn can be transformed into your party area.

Some info from Helen and Scott’s recent wedding… I thought it would be nice to get a quick group shot of all the guests in attendance at the front entrance, which took a bit of time to organise (as there are always a couple of latecomers, lol). We picked a spot beside the lounge area overlooking the water for family shots before the speeches started. At this point, the sun was quite strong as the clouds broke. We then took a quick walk around to the back of the venue for bride and groom portraits and some bridal photos too before making our way back.

Craigavon Civic Centre
Craigavon Civic Centre is for your ceremony only as there is no reception held here but check with Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council. The ceremony was about 25 minutes long or so and was overlooking Craigavon Lakes. Afterward the ceremony we shot some groups of the guests in attendance at the front of the civic building before everyone made their way to the reception. Newforge House
I’d love to shoot your Newforge House wedding as it's located in a Georgian country house with plenty of gardens surrounding the venue. The house and gardens are for your exclusive use on your wedding day. The Newforge can hold small weddings only so not able to hold larger gatherings. The New Forge can hold civil ceremonies and partnerships and although it is quite small it’s beautiful for the forthcoming bride and groom. I’m assuming because it’s a guest house too you book the entire house for your wedding.

Pot Belly Restaurant
The Pot Belly Restaurant is located in an old linen mill along the bank of the river bank. There is a reception lounge and two dining rooms. The venue caters for medium or smaller more intimate civil partnerships and or just your reception. You will need to seek accommodations elsewhere if booking here for your evening reception.
Wedding Venues Lurgan
Lurgan offers a couple of wedding venues you can take a look at.
Gracehall
This is one of the best wedding venues in Lurgan as I photographed there a while ago at Roisin and David’s Gracehall wedding. You can stay here overnight as there are 10 plush double rooms available with on-suites which are reserved for exclusive use. This is one of the best venues in County Armagh in my opinion and is a little hidden gem as I’d never heard of the venue until recently and I live about 6 miles away!

Brownlow House
Brownlow House is beside Lurgan Park and the wedding venue in Lurgan has some fantastic architecture inside and outside so you couldn't go wrong in this wedding venue in Lurgan. They have large beautiful coloured glass windows and flowers were out in full-blown too. You can have your ceremony here as well as the Reception. Unfortunately, there are no rooms here accommodation will need to be elsewhere. The venue is also known as Brownlow Castle as I worked here as a wedding photographer in Lurgan.

And Ashburn Lurgan is in the centre of the town beside the train station (with access around the back of the hotel) but I think they only concentrate on small weddings so please ask the staff and management.

Wedding Venues Portadown
Portadown offers a limited number of wedding venues you can look at.
Seagoe Hotel
The hotel is the only wedding venue in Portadown. A handy 10 minutes away from the M1 motorway so very great for wedding transport to and from the venue. There’s no question this venue is one of the best hotels locally. The hotel has a great staircase with some fantastic lighting and carpets which weren’t being used as guests are usually at the front of the hotel. There’s also a great balcony overlooking the car park, trying to avoid getting the car park in the photos. This is probably one of the biggest venues as the hotel holds a large 250 guests which is quite a number. The hotel also has a nice back area with gardens as I’ve worked here as a wedding photographer. If you are planning to get married I would have a quick look at my blog post.

Alternatives in Portadown
This is the only venue in town but there are some alternatives too which you can consider like golf clubs, possibly pubs and bars or other places that might have a large function room if the budget is very tight. A couple of pubs in Portadown are The Head O The Road in Tartaraghan which is a short distance from the Birches and Peatlands Park so is quite a popular spot as you’d expect.
Wedding Venues Armagh
All of the above wedding venues have plenty of parks and countryside areas that can be used for wedding portraits and bridal photos in County Armagh including but not limited to Tannaghmore Park, Demesne Park, Lurgan Park and Portadown Peoples Park.
Wedding venues in Armagh are coming soon so keep an eye on this page but a couple of notable venues are Armagh City Hotel and Charlemont Arms Hotel as I work in the area. The biggest would be the city hotel which also has a park beside it. I’m not too sure if there are many outside locations at the venue.
Hotel Wedding Venues
County Armagh offers some great hotel weddings but as you’d expect a smaller county perhaps has limited and not an awful lot of hotels to choose from so I’ll give you a quick summary of them. Some hotel weddings in the area are Seagoe Hotel, Brownlow House, Gracehall and Armagh City Hotel.
Reception Wedding Venues
Out of the above, some of my favourites and the best evening wedding reception venues are Gracehall and Seagoe Hotel where you can easily spend the whole evening reception here in the venue itself without having to leave at the end of the evening and seek a place to stay which can be a real pain for some and a bit of an inconvenience for others if for example guests are quite a bit older.
Wedding Transport
A short list of wedding transport in County Armagh is I Do Wedding Cars NI, Ideal Wedding Cars, and Luxury Chauffeur.
