New Year’s Wedding Video in Glenavon Hotel

New Year’s Wedding Video in the Glenavon Hotel with Kathleen and Damian. The couple received hours of footage and a wedding video in Cookstown.

Cookstown Wedding Videography

Catharine booked through email as she was communicating with vendors from Australia. Damian is Irish, living in or near the town, I believe. It was misty in the morning with a slight hint of rain, which made the wedding video more cinematic as I made my way to the Glenavon Hotel. This added some atmosphere to their wedding video footage in Cookstown. When I arrived, I filmed a couple of video clips with the drone before heading up to the bridal room. The room was quite small, so I don’t think it was the bridal suite. I think this was a room for getting ready.

The bride is sitting in the bedroom while the hairstylist fixes her hair.

New Year’s Wedding Video at Christmas time

WOW, what can I say about this New Year’s Wedding? First time I filmed at this time of the year and hopefully not the last! Afterwards, I made my way towards the ceremony in St Patrick’s Church in Greencastle, Northern Ireland, again packing my wedding video gear into the car, which was about 20 minutes away from the hotel, so it was fairly close. The Church had beautifully decorated Christmas decorations sprinkled all around the building. Mostly inside, with a few outside too. You could tell it was Christmas time! I filmed the bridal party arriving and then the ceremony. The Priest was great as he let me move about a bit so I could best position myself for filming the bride and groom and then the Priest. I recorded plenty of audio as I love good-quality audio. A bad wedding video is bad audio, as you can’t hear anything. There were some readings by both sides.

Our next stop off was Drum Manor Forest Park in Dungannon for some bridal portraits. It was raining a bit heavily at this stage of the day, so umbrellas came out, and shelter under the trees was used towards the end. There were a few different combinations I filmed while here, but unfortunately, the rain got the better of us.

Wedding Reception Video

Back at the venue for the couple's video at the wedding reception, where I filmed some footage of the bridal party at the Christmas tree, upstairs on the balcony and a bit of casual chat in The Adair Suite before the speeches started in the Tyrone Suite, which is just beside the reception area. By this time, I had set up my two video cameras as well as microphones for audio recording all the guests had taken to their seats. I try to film some of the guests at their tables chatting, but I don’t think you need to film too much, as I may not use it in their highlights wedding video.

The speeches commenced after the brides and groom’s grand entrance and went very well with speeches from the bride, groom and a few others, including the bestman. There was a lot of the groom's family in attendance, as they were from Northern Ireland, and the bride’s side had understandably a few, as she is from Australia, so a bit far to travel. This made the Irish wedding film a bit different, with the bride being Australian.

The first dance went very well, too, as everyone crowded around the new husband and wife. Afterwards, Justin McGurk & The Boogie Men started the music, and I made sure I had a few audio devices recording the band play for the evening’s reception. All the best with your future together, and thanks for booking me as your wedding videographer in Cookstown. You can check out my video montage for the wedding reception in the couple’s highlights film at the top of this page.
