Family Engagement Photos in Stormont Estate with Val, Kyle and the two great kids, as the mixed-race family booked a session in Belfast in the autumn. We met at the car park, and I’ll have to be honest, I hadn’t ever been here before, just seen it on TV.

Parliament Buildings is located on the Stormont Estate in Belfast and is the HQ for the Northern Ireland Executive and the Office of the First Minister and Deputy. The Parliament Buildings house the assembly, but the castle itself, which is a Grade A listed building, is where all the executive decisions are made. It has massive historical significance in the grand scheme of things in Northern Ireland. The estate is parkland for the public to enjoy, but the castle itself isn't open to the public. Parliament Buildings does have tours, though. Located in East Belfast, it is quite easy to get to.
Myself and the interracial family took a walk around some parts of the estate, taking photos if we saw something fascinating. It was August, so coming into the autumn time, there were still leaves on the trees, and you could see some light brown and orange coloured leaves on the ground. I’m all for couples bringing their kids with them to an engagement shoot; it makes things a bit different and much more of a family affair. For a family and engagement photographer like myself, there was no shortage of areas within walking distance. I tried to think of variations in walking, posing, looking at the camera and sitting down to break things up somewhat.
