Castle Coole Engagement Photography
Andrew booked me for engagement photos in Castle Coole. We met at the car park, and I’ll have to be honest, I hadn’t heard of the castle. It took about an hour to drive here, but it was well worth it.
Castle Coole is a massive 18th-century mansion and a National Trust property located in a park just outside Enniskillen. There are a few reasons you should visit Castle Coole. The architecture is stunning, and you could spend some time walking around the castle exploring. The house was built between 1788 and 1797. The interiors feature beautiful plasterwork and columns and are furnished in a Regency style. The 1,200-acre landscape park has many walking trails for those active types.
Surprise Proposal Photos
Andrew had spent some time earlier in the day making an archway with a red carpet and some champagne. The plan was for him to pop the question and for me to take photos from a distance, possibly behind some trees or bushes, and then I would come out afterwards. I couldn’t see this working because if you see someone in the distance, you’d be wondering what on earth they are doing. I pretended to take wildlife photos, but not sure it worked out. I could see Natasha off in the distance, walking towards the set-up with Andrew. She looked curious, as you can see in my photos. When she got to the archway, she looked around and read the Will You Marry Me? writing on the mirror. Andrew got down on one knee and proposed, and thankfully, she said yes. I don’t photograph many marriage proposals in Northern Ireland, but I’m sure glad I photographed this one. Now the question was asked, and the answer was a resounding YES. We took some engagement pictures beside the archway and the red carpet in the forest beside the mansion.
