Factors Affecting the Price of a Wedding Video
Factors Affecting the Price of a Wedding Video can include experience, coverage length, how many videographers are there and business costs.
Experience
Prices aren’t just pulled out of a paper bag randomly, but must be carefully and thoughtfully worked out, as they affect your running and operating costs. The experience of the person filming your wedding is another factor to be included in the prices and relates to quality. Videographers with less experience may offer their services at far lower wedding video rates (some might say silly prices) to build their portfolio, and those with years of experience tend to charge higher rates. I know everybody, as I did, starts somewhere, and several newcomer videographers have no experience and are producing some great work. A lot of it is dreadful, though it has to be said. Over time, as their business costs begin to go up for a variety of reasons, their prices will and should also rise. The best solution is to find a balance between the required quality expectation (i.e., what you expect) and paying a good price for your choice of videographer.
What Package Will You Choose
Various packages offer different hours and coverage, from shorter, which will be a bit cheaper or longer or all day, which will be more expensive, as it takes much longer to edit in post-production; therefore, the price is going to be obviously different. If you look at the price, there really isn't that much difference, as getting the equipment together takes time, as well as other considerations.
Business costs
Every business has costs, which will differ in terms of its business model, even though they essentially do the same thing. Business costs still vary, so understandably, this will be a factor when comparing prices. Insurance is a must-have and offers peace of mind for everyone involved, including the videographer, the venue and the couple booking the professional. There are operating costs in running a professional business. Some of the wedding videographer costs include equipment, advertising, accounting, car, income tax and others.
Final Thoughts
Many professional videographers, including myself, continually invest in retraining and education to keep themselves up-to-date with the latest techniques in the wedding industry, so this is reflected in their cost. To finish off prices and packages, consider all of the running expenses, equipment and time involved in filming and editing.
