What is graphic design?
A professional like myself creates visual ideas and concepts, typography and images to communicate information using computer software, the Apple Mac I prefer. I work with customers and clients to understand their needs and then develop a design that conveys a visual message. Some ideas are brochures, leaflets, banners, wedding stationery, posters, menus, newsletters, signs, price lists, certificates and tickets. As you can see, I work mainly in print but also design some artwork for print and digital use.

Brochures
I design brochures from scratch; all I need is the relevant text and images, along with a brief on what you want. It takes a while to produce a proof as they could be multi-page documents.
Leaflets
I design leaflets which are great for advertising and promotions, and get your word out there. They can be designed fairly quickly; all I need is a brief from the customer or client.
Calendars
Calendars take a while to design and produce a proof, as you’d expect. It depends on the amount of work that goes into the layout and what type you want.
Stationery
Stationery can be designed, but I don’t design logos at the moment. You will need to supply this in the format I need.
Posters
Posters can be creative and eye-catching or more corporate and business-like. It really depends on what you want.
Business Cards
Business cards can be designed fairly quickly, from your own specification, with input from me. Again, logos need to be supplied.
Pamphlet Design
Pamphlet design is a balance between visuals and information to ensure your communication is read and seen. You need to work out a structure and plan a little bit before handing over to a graphics designer for layout. You can have a bi-fold, which is a four-page pamphlet, a tri-fold, which is six panels with three on either side or a z-fold, which is accordion-type.
