Locations for Family Portraits County Armagh

I’m a family photographer in Portadown, County Armagh, including parks, venues like hotels, restaurants and towns. I photograph families all over the place and do mini photo shoots in County Armagh, within a 30-minute drive from the town centre. You decide where you are photographed, as I’m not tied to a particular location or town. These last up to 1 hour and can be emailed or saved onto a USB for £49 extra. Great for viewing on your Smart TV! Many couples have booked me in the past.

    Just outside Lurgan and close to Craigavon, this is a very popular spot that doesn’t disappoint.

  2. Lurgan Park

    Off Market Street on the main road and just beside Brownlow Castle, Lurgan Park has a beautiful man-made lake with plenty of trees and open areas.

  3. Craigavon Lakes

  4. Oxford Island

    Just outside Lurgan and handy to the M1 motorway, Oxford Island is massive. The area where you drive has plenty of boats, whereas the bottom part is much more open with lots of areas for engagement photos.

  5. Ardress House, Portadown

  7. Portadown People’s Park

    A short walk from Portadown town centre with plenty of car parking, the park has a small man-made pond and plenty of paths and trees.

  8. Bachelor’s Walk,

    A small public park in Portadown that’s worth checking out.

  9. Clare Glen

    Located in Tandragee, the Clare Glen has a great stream along the path and is very popular for local engagement couples.

  10. Gosford Forest Park

    In Markethill, lots of people come here for walks and outings, and I would highly recommend the Gosford Forest Park. Unfortunately, car parking is not free here.

  11. Palace Demesne

    Besides the Armagh City Hotel, the park has plenty of areas of beauty, which would be great for your engagement pictures.

    A great park between Portadown and Dungannon, probably closer to Portadown.

    Just off the main road in the centre of Banbridge.

Family Photography County Armagh

I have been photographing lots of families in County Armagh in the past, and as I was booked in the home, the back garden in Armagh is a great place to celebrate and has the bonus of not being too far from your home, lol. Anyways, this is an example of this great family. Amanda booked me for celebrations with her family. We started with a few out back before heading inside the living room. It’s a special time when you can get everyone together for a group photo. Family portraits are individual, preferably with a plain or interesting background. This is Amanda and her family outside her back in Armagh.

A few photos from a family birthday get-together in Killicomaine Community Centre in Portadown. Also called Killicomaine Jubilee Community Centre. I was booked for birthday photos throughout the evening celebrations, where there were plenty of fun things for the guests to do.

Fun Family Photos Tannaghmore Gardens

Another popular spot for family photos in Lurgan and Craigavon is Tannaghmore Gardens, as I’ve photographed lots of families here. Every time is a delight, and you always find something new. I joined Caroline’s family for a family session with their two daughters. We took a walk around the gardens, exploring the area. It’s great every season, but in autumn, you have the brown and yellow leaves on the ground, giving a rustic feel and look.

Family Photos Lurgan House

I was booked for some fun family photos in the home in Lurgan, which included some photo prints, too, along with a USB. The older daughter was great to photograph with, but the younger kid was, let’s say, a little bit more challenging to take photos! We took photos of a couple of variations within the house, so I think everyone was happy.

Family Portraits Gosford Forest Park

Charmaine’s super fun Armagh photoshoot. The location, Gosford Forest Park, was perfect, with many different places to photograph. Charmaine contacted me about some family, and we both decided Markethill was fairly close to all of us, so not too far to travel. Hopefully, many wonderful memories were made that you can cherish for a long time. Thanks for booking me as your family portrait photographer.

Family Fun Lurgan Park

I met these two great adults, the young son and baby, for family photos in Lurgan Park. They brought some great props for the son and baby to play with. We casually walked around the park, spent a little time on the swings and ended up at the jetty beside the lake for some fun pictures. The props they brought worked out great, as they gave the young son and baby something to hold and play with interacting with the two parents.

Prop ideas for Family Photo Sessions

Family photo prop ideas for family sessions. If you are stuck for some family photo prop ideas, then I have compiled a few ideas below. Props make your photos more interesting as your child or children can bring some toys to act as props within the images. This gives them something to do and interact with others rather than looking at the camera and smiling. Even a baby can play with some props or toys. It would help if you were careful with toddlers and toys, and they should all be baby-friendly.

I’ve compiled a short list of family photo prop ideas below. If there is anything else you can think of for your family photo shoot, make a note in the comments below.

As you can see from above, there are endless possibilities for family sessions; the only real limit is your imagination and the transport of props from your home to the location where you want photos. There are lots of small things you can take, though, like small toys and balloons (you can blow these up when you get to the location). Some of the other props might be a bit more difficult, like the picture frames, bikes and other larger items. An example of family photos using some photo props, where we had an assortment of props ranging from balloons to teddy bears. I also photograph families all over Northern Ireland, including Belfast.

Family Video Productions County Armagh

An example of family video productions where I filmed the family party in Edenmore, which you can play below. Photos were also taken in the evening. Edenmore is between Lurgan and Moira. Ben’s mum, Dee, wanted Edenmore family birthday party photos and video of the evening as Ben was off to the navy, and they had booked The Kircassock Suite for the event. I took some pictures of some of the decor. With photos, you need a flash, or else everyone will be dark in the Edenmore Country Club room. Lighting would be dreadful for photos.

Events and Parties

We took some photos in a corner of the room, and then some of Ben’s friends did too. The Curious Fox had a buffet, and the food was beautiful. Afterwards, a policeman interrupted things as he was enquiring about a vehicle that just happened to be Ben's. After a few seconds, the policeman burst into song and a bit of fun, all part of the act by singing Waiter Cameoflage, so stay until the end of the video!
